Thanks for your inquiry Joe. NVVR is a horse loving, family oriented non-profit organization. We conduct monthly rides and most of them are benefit rides for needy persons or organizations in our community. We have a great bunch of friendly riders who are always willing to help out in one way or another. Our core "Club Officers" and their families generously volunteer their time and efforts and they are credited for our success. Most of our riders' mounts are Quarter Horses of all sizes and colors, but you'll also see some Andalusions, Appaloosas among others in our group. I am thinking of moving to the Valley and wanted to see if there was any trail riding action. I have three paso fino horses and I enjoy riding them with friends and family. It is good to see that there is at least a group of riders in the area.

The North Val Verde Riders have been invited to attend a benefit trail ride, dinner & dance for Maegan Grace Alonzo, a 7-month old baby who needs open heart surgery. The ride is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Delta Lake Park in Monte Alto. Registration @ 9:00 a.m. to ride at 12 noon. $15 Riders; $10 non-riders; $5 children; $10.00 for dance only. NVVR has been invited to participate in an 18 mile trail ride starting at 3102 N. Bus. 77 Sunshine Strip in Harlingen to the Prince of Peace Catholic Church grounds in Lyford scheduled for Saturday, June 28 at 10 a.m. You can camp out on Friday night and enjoy a cookout. This trail ride is to honor the Valley's 28 fallen soldier heroes. Live music by Invazzion, Grupo La Zeric, Imprezzion and Grupo Xacto. A 2008 Ford Escape will be raffled.
